Siklis Trek : Rough and wild, this trek takes you through less traveled country south of the Annapurnas and Lamjung Himal massif. This is a spectacular short trek, which traverses a variety of terrain from low land villages and rice terraces up to Nepal’s largest Gurung (Gurkha) village (3000m). Throughout the trek you will enjoy great mountain views of Manaslu, Annapurna II, and the Lamjung Himal. The local people here are unaccustomed to trekkers and always provide a friendly welcome, as well as enjoying the odd party!

Itinerary

Day01

Arrive at Kathamandu 1350m Transfer to Hotel.

Welcome to Kathmandu, the capital city of the Himalayan kingdom of Nepal.You will be met on airport and transferred to your hotel. After the arrival, the group will be formally introduced to Guide for the activities over the next few days. One should pay attention in particular to the safety aspects of the briefing. Any questions or doubts should be asked and clarified at this time. We check your insurance details and other requirement for your trekking.

Day02

Sight seeing around at Kathamandu

After breakfast, we start an interesting tour around Kathmandu. Escorting by an English speaking guide be, try to give them a full taste of our vivid culture image and an enchanting manner of its people. In our sightseeing tour we go to Monkey temple Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath and Kathmandu Durbar square. Durbar Square: -This complex of palaces, courtyards and temples, built between the 12th and 18th centuries, used to be the seat of the ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu. An intriguing piece here is the 17th century stone inscription set into the wall of the palace with writings in 15 languages. The Durbar square, protected as an UNESCO world Heritage site, is the social, religious and urban focal point of the city. There are also museums inside the palace building. There is an entrance fee of Rs.250 for foreign visitors. Your ticket to the Square entitles you to visit all the museums. Swayambhunath, 6.5 kilometers west of Kathmandu, situated on a hillock, this 2000 years old Stupa is the world’s most glorious Buddhist shrine and is surrounded by several small pagodas. The main temple is capped by a pinnacle of copper gilt and is painted on the four sides with all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. Pashupatinath, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is the holiest and most famous Nepalese temple. Situated 5 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu on the bank of the sacred Bagmati River, it is an impressive pagoda style structure with gilt roof and richly carved silver doors. It has bathing and cremation ghats, which are of absorbing interest to the tourist, particularly in the mornings and on festival days.

Day03

Kathamandu-Pokhara 35 minute fly or 6 hrs drive 960m

Drive or Fly to Pokhara. Pokhara is a big natural Beauty City out of Kathmandu, which is 200km from Kathmandu. Pokhara is a place of remarkable natural beauty. The serenity of Phewa Lake and the magnificence of fishtailed Machhapuchhre rising behind it make it an ideal setting to spend a few days in Pokhara.

Day04

Pokhara-Mardi Pul- Karpani 6hrs 1370m

After breakfast leaving hotel drive to Mardipul and start the trek to Karpani.Trek follow a less frequented path in the direction of Ghachok passing through the settlement of Lhachock (975m) then through village fields to descend through village fields to descend through a natural rock tunnel to reach our campsite at Karpani. Walking gently up and downhill.

Day05

Ghalegaon Danda- Sikklis 6 hrs 2700m

After breakfast drive to Bhurjung Khola and We start with a steep ascent from the campsite through oak and rhododendron forest toward the ridge which separates the Seti and Madi Kholas. In spring the forest is full of primula, orchids and rhododendrons in bloom. We come to an open meadow with fabulous views of Machhapuchare, then continue up to the top of the ridge (2621m). We make a short descent to reach an open meadow used by the local people as a buffalo pastures (about 2400m). Then a longer descent through forest, emerging into open grassy meadows above Sikklis (2000m). we get good views from our campsite both at sunrise and sunset. About 7–8hrs walking with one steep ascent and one steep descent.

Day06

In Sikklis 5 hrs 2500m

Opportunity to make an optional excursion north from sikklis along a ridge for stunning views of Lamjung himal and the Annapurnas. Alternatively spend the day relaxing and taking in the spectacular mountain scenery or wandering around sikklis, one of the largest Gurung settlements in Nepal.

Day07

Sikklis - Laamokhet 5hrs 920m

We make a steep descent from our campsite above Sikklis through the small settlement of Khitang down to the Madi Khola. The walking is more gradual now along the west bank of the river. Good opportunities for birdwatching – watch out for kingfishers, blue throated beeeaters and whitecapped river chats. We lage of Laamokhet. This is one long steep descent trek today.

Day08

Laamokhet – Thulokote 6hrs 1419m

Explore around (optional rip: can be climbed unnamed peak) From Laamokhet, easy walking brings us gradually down the west bank of the river through forest and fields. We then ascend steepy through the forest to a small pass and then more gradually continue to Kalikastan (1150m). We stop in the village before continuing along a broad trail and ascending to the top of an open grassy ridge with panoramic views of the Annapurnas, from Dhaulagiri in the west to Lamjung and Manaslu Himal in the east. The lakes of Begnas and Rupa are below the ridge to the south. We camp a little below the ridge.Day over with one steepish ascent.

Day09

Thulokote – Syaglung 6 hrs 1400m

Retrace our steps from the camp to the top of the ridge to watch sunrise over the mountains and thin return to the campsite for breakfast. Descend quite steepy from the ridge and at a major trail junction take the trail to the east. Ascend to the ridge to find a small camp-site.

Day10

Syaglung –Chisapani 6 hrs 2000m

Walking along the villages and decend down little bit and steep up hill to Chisapani. From here a beautiful panoramic views of Himalayas to the north and green hill on the south.

Day11

Chisapani - Begnas Tal-Pokhara 5 hrs 960m

Walking along the ridge with view of mountain and Beganash Lake on right hand side beautiful day end at Begnash Lake than drive top Pokhara.On hotel over night..

Day12

Pokhara-Kathamandu.

After breakfast in the morning we say goodbye to Pokhara and head back to bustling Kathmandu by car or private bus (There is an option to fly). In the afternoon free day of your own. Overnight in Hotel

Day13

Final Departure.

All too soon it's time to bid Nepal farewell and one realizes that we can never be intimate, only acquainted with this amazing adventure kingdom.
